Hey, thanks to all of you who filled out our recent FounderIV survey.
This is what you told me:

And as an investor at The Family Fund, using AI for business growth is the exact topic I hear most from the founders of my portfolio companies.
The #1 thing that's most important to being a solid investor is helping founders win and build better businesses.
And this is why I'm taking AI implementation so seriously.
So what are we doing? We're building! And doing our best to become pros when it comes to Agentic AI.
Because I don't want to be left behind. I was still in high school during the dotcom boom…and missed out on the mobile revolution of 2007-2016 as I was building my first company out of college (FitFuel)…
And promised myself that I wouldn't miss the next massive societal shift (from a biz building perspective).
Thus, I want to get my hands dirty, build, and be in the thick of it…as a builder, an investor, and someone who can empower the amazing founders around me.
So, what are we building? A few key AI-driven solutions for Leadroller clients and Family Fund portfolio companies. These include:
- Lead Reactivation Agent for a financial services company (reactivates "dead leads" and converts them into revenue).
- SDR Agent for a health tech company (automates inbound lead handling and appointment scheduling, removing the need for human involvement).
- Social Content Copilot for founders in the consumer and consumer tech space (allowing them to create authentic, high-quality, differentiated content at 1/10th the current cost and time across multiple platforms: X, Linkedin, Youtube, & IG).
Today, I want to speak about the Social Content Copilot because it's the one I'm personally focused on the most right now, and believe I'll soon be using every single day.
I've realized that creating high-quality, authentic content is something most founders struggle with. They want to do it—especially as paid media gets more and more expensive—but it's hard to do well and is incredibly time-consuming.
As an example, last year I spent ~5-10 hours per week last year writing content on LinkedIn/X, resulting in:
- 63,000+ followers on X (started with 0)
- 93,000+ followers on LinkedIn (up from 70k or so)
- A boatload of leads & monetization opps
- Most importantly: Joy from the creative process (if I didn't get this, there is no way I would have been able to sustain this level of effort)
And that was just writing—imagine how much more time it would take to create on YouTube too. Damn.
But the thing is, YouTube is likely the most valuable content platform right now. And it's only becoming more valuable vs. the others.
It's one of the largest search engines (YouTube processes over 3 billion searches each month) in the world and is growing at an exponential rate (2.5 billion monthly active users worldwide and counting).
And there's more:
- Over 2 million creators earn money on YouTube
- In the U.S., over 40% of adults watch YouTube daily on their TV screens
- Users spend an average of 19 minutes per day on YouTube
- Over 90% of people globally use YouTube to explore new brands and products
- 87% of viewers have made a purchase after viewing a brand on YouTube
- YouTube's immersive video content leads to higher brand recall, with 80% of users able to remember ads viewed on the platform
- Top YouTubers earn between $23 and $45 per minute of content, with annual earnings reaching up to $54 million for leading creators
- In the United States, 85% of adults use YouTube, surpassing Facebook's 70% usage rate
- In February 2025, YouTube captured an 11.6% share of U.S. TV viewing, surpassing traditional platforms like Netflix and Disney
But here's the challenge—creating great YouTube content is hard work.
Key bottlenecks in the YouTube video creation process include:
- Script Writing: Figuring out what to say and how to make it authentic and relevant to my audience.
- Video Editing: Making the video look polished and professional.
- Thumbnail Creation: Designing thumbnails that get people to click on the video.
- Content Repurposing: Maximizing the value of the video by breaking it into shorter clips and distributing it across platforms (YouTube → Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn, etc.)
This is where our
Social Content Copilot comes in, which my Leadroller Partner Andy Mackensen and I have created to directly attack and destroy these bottlenecks.
Let me explain how it works:
1. 2nd Brain: To ensure authenticity, the system ingests everything about you. It looks at your social handles, past content, your background, and any information about your content pillars, advice, and offers. This "second brain" makes sure every piece of content is in your voice and aligned with your brand.
2. Outsourced Ideation Partner: Coming up with new ideas for content is hard, especially in the early days. The system helps you generate ideas if you're stuck. It helps prime the ideation process, which makes it easier to stay consistent.
Ideation happens in two main parts:
- Coming up with a relevant topic/idea
- Turning that topic/idea into a validated title that would perform on YouTube/social media
For part one (ideation), this is the general workflow…
We mainly use your knowledge base for the idea, as well as your input for what you want the idea to be about. After that we factor in recent posts from your competitors and general knowledge we have given the AI model on the backend.
Once that idea is established, we then move on to part two, which is molding it into a working title.
We run that idea through an AI model. This effectively molds that idea into a working title that would work for YouTube, and we spit out multiple titles and ideas for you to choose from.
The same process takes place for scripting the video, but it is much more intensive in the first part which is taking the users knowledge base and the video description to formulate a working script (hook, body, cta). This is why the info we collect from the user is super important—the more we understand your business and who you work with, the better and more effective (and importantly, authentic) the script is.
3. AI Script Generator: Once you have an idea, the Copilot helps generate scripts for your videos. This cuts down the time it takes to write a script by 80-90%. You can then add your personal insights, stories, or stats to refine it. This drastically reduces the time spent on scriptwriting.
4. Human-Infusion for Thumbnail Creation & Editing: Although AI is amazing, we still use humans for thumbnail creation and editing to ensure everything is polished and professional. This helps save valuable time without sacrificing quality.
5. AI Avatar for Short-Form Video Creation & Syndication: After creating a long-form video, the platform generates short-form videos using an AI avatar. These short clips are then syndicated across relevant social media platforms (like Instagram, TikTok, and LinkedIn), which maximizes the content's reach and impact.
My goal is to publish 2 long-form YouTube videos in April, 4 in May, and 6 in June, along with 5-15 short-form clips.
I've learned that it's important to be "intentionally bad" when starting something new—this keeps my expectations low and allows me to iterate and improve quickly. I'm focused on action, not perfection.
